The Namaste Story

What do you get when you mix a deep passion for education and teaching with research, technology, analytics, marketing, and project management? What if you were to add involvement in clinical care, the creative arts and an abiding interest in diversity and inclusion? After more than 25 years of honing and refining, the answer is the driving force behind Namaste Logic: Delaney La Rosa, RN, MSN Ed.

Delaney La Rose, Founder and PrincipalA self-proclaimed serial entrepreneur, Delaney has launched and successfully managed a number of businesses serving the public and private sectors. She has been invited to join the staffs of Yale University and Mayo Clinic to create, launch or expand new programs in research, simulation and medical education.

While at Mayo Clinic, she was appointed to Assistant Professor of Medical Education in appreciation of her innovative faculty development programs, teaching, and publication of curricula and research projects. Delaney continues in her passion for teaching and technology, acting as adjunct professor for a Midwestern university specializing in distance education, where she developed the Health Sciences curriculum in ethics, and teaches numerous courses from health information technology to leadership and management.

“We believe that to teach, learn, and prosper, we must create an environment of collaboration and inclusiveness. For our clients, this is as much about the process as it is the outcome.” —Delaney La Rosa

Delaney remains a sought-after resource in curriculum design, simulation, applied improvisation (Improv) and debriefing – both for its impact on evidence-based educational programs and as a teaching modality. A featured speaker at the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH), Association for Talent Development, Colleges and Universities, and numerous regional and national health systems, she has presented such topics as Using Simulation-Based Research to Inform Evidence-Based Education, Simulation-based Qualitative Research, and Using Human-Client Simulators for Immersive Learning, among others. Delaney’s unique courses on debriefing as a professional, remediation, and educational tools are among the most popular and have been featured at national medical school faculty development courses, regional Emergency Medical Services conferences, and by private booking.

Delaney’s passion for pushing the boundaries of best practices in education, training, and related technology are major contributors to her involvement in leading-edge educational activities. Delaney is an editor in faculty development for MERLOT II, and the 2017 IMSH. She is a member of the Education Committee and Education Technology Taskforce for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSIH), and a contributing member of the Association for Talent Development. Her work to-date led to a special invitation to Training Management Network’s think-tank beta- held, in part, at the UCF Mixed Emerging Technology Integration Lab (METIL). This first-of-its-kind activity included certification in gamification of learning and exposure to the best of Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), and SimLearn.

Delaney’s professional activities are augmented by her passion for the arts. She is a classically trained musician and has been both a student and teacher of Improvisation for more than 15 years. She was an active contributor and member of the Humanities in Medicine (HIM) Committee at Mayo Clinic, and is most well known for her acclaimed monologue written and performed for the first time at the 2016 regional humanities conference “New View,” entitled “Cultural Standpoints in Healthcare.”
